The Humanities and Social Sciences Department encourages students to examine society, human behaviour and the world around them through History, Law, Psychology, Sociology, and Global Perspectives and Research.

Cedar College’s Peer Tutoring Programme brings students together in a collaborative environment built on mutual support and shared growth. Each year, academically strong A2 students are selected to help their peers and junior students address academic challenges through one-to-one or small-group sessions.
For students who require additional support, this personalised guidance helps clarify concepts, reinforce understanding and build confidence. Tutors strengthen their leadership and communication skills while deepening their own understanding of the subject.
Cedar College’s Teaching Assistant Programme pairs capable aspiring educators with students who require additional academic support outside regular class hours. Selected through a competitive process, our teaching assistants provide one-to-one guidance, additional practice and support with challenging concepts.
The programme benefits everyone involved. Teaching assistants gain practical classroom experience under the guidance of experienced mentors, while students receive accessible, personalised academic support from someone who understands their perspective.
