The Department of Languages, Literature & Creative Arts at Cedar College fosters creativity, expression, and cultural understanding across a diverse range of disciplines. Through Cambridge International (CAIE) qualifications in Literature in English, Urdu, Art & Design, Media Studies, and Travel & Tourism, students develop strong communication, analytical, and creative skills while exploring language, storytelling, visual expression, and global culture. Literature in English
Cedar College’s Literature in English program, delivered through the CAIE curriculum, introduces learners to a rich variety of literary texts, including prose, poetry, and drama. Students develop the ability to critically analyze themes, characters, and literary techniques, while forming well-supported interpretations of the texts they study.
Our approach to teaching Literature emphasizes close reading, discussion, and analytical

Through the CAIE Urdu curriculum, Cedar College guides learners through the study of the
Urdu language and its rich literary tradition. Students develop strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills, while engaging with a variety of texts that reflect the language’s cultural depth and heritage.
At Cedar College, Urdu is taught with an emphasis on both linguistic proficiency and

Art & Design
Cedar College’s Art & Design program, delivered through the CAIE curriculum, encourages learners to explore their creativity through a variety of artistic mediums and techniques. Students develop technical skills alongside conceptual thinking, learning to translate ideas into visual expression through drawing, painting, design, and other creative processes.

MEDIA STUDIES
Through the CAIE Media Studies curriculum, Cedar College introduces learners to the analysis and creation of media texts, including film, television, advertising, and digital media. destination management, customer service, sustainable tourism, and the economic impact of travel. Students develop a strong understanding of how the industry operates on both a local and global scale.
