WHAT IF EDUCATION ASKED
MORE OF YOU?
The Liberal Arts Core Programme at Cedar is built on a simple but radical idea — that the best education doesn’t just fill you with knowledge, it changes the way you think. Spanning humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, languages, coding, public speaking, and the arts, LACP is where students stop asking “what’s the right answer” and start asking better questions altogether.
This is learning that refuses to stay in one lane. Where a single week might take you from analysing literature to understanding data, from debating ideas to performing them. Where critical thinking, creativity, and communication aren’t just skills on a CV — they’re habits you build every single day.
CORE PROGRAMMES
ARTS &
DESIGN
From filmmaking to graphic design to ceramics — students don’t just study art, they make it. Every course ends with a real, finished piece of work that didn’t exist before they started.
Level 1
July | 1 Month
Film Making
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of visual storytelling through film. Students will learn how to develop ideas, write simple scripts, plan shots, use basic camera techniques, compose frames, work with lighting, edit footage, and apply sound design.
Level 2
September – October | 2 Months
Graphic Design: From Idea to Practice
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of visual communication and design. Students will learn key principles such as colour, typography, layout, composition, branding, and visual hierarchy while creating posters, logos, illustrations, and social media designs.
Level 3
December – January | 2 Months
Basic Ceramics
This hands-on course introduces students to clay through accessible hand-building techniques, creative prompts, and story-driven exploration. Students will learn how to create functional and sculptural forms using pinch, coil, and slab techniques.
ENGINEERING AND
TECHNOLOGY
Build an electric vehicle. Design a 3D-printed product. Wire an Arduino automation system. Engineering at Cedar is hands-on from day one — if you can imagine it, you can build it.
Level 1
July | 1 Month
Make your own Electric Vehicle
This course gives students the experience of designing a miniature electric vehicle from concept to system
layout. Students will learn how chassis, wheels, motors, batteries, and power transmission work together to create motion.
Level 2
September – October | 2 Months
A Hands-on Guide to
Electronics & Automation
This introductory course gives students a practical foundation in electronics and automation through Arduino, sensors, circuits, and hands-on projects. Students will learn basic electrical concepts, breadboarding, microcontrollers, digital and analog inputs, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Level 3
December – January | 2 Months
The World of 3D Printers
and Printing
This course teaches students how to turn ideas into real physical products using CAD and 3D printing. Students will learn digital modeling, design their own objects, and prepare them for manufacturing.
SCIENCE &
INNOVATION
Explore neuroscience with Aga Khan University, fabricate with carbon fibre, and decode Formula 1 race strategy through data. Science here is never just theory — it’s discovery in action.
Level 1
July | 1 Month
Neuro Camp
NeuroCamp introduces students to the fundamentals of neuroscience through an interactive study of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. Students will explore neuroanatomy, physiology, clinical cases, brain functions, spinal tracts, cranial nerves, language, vision, memory, and neurological disorders.
Level 2
September – October | 2 Months
Carbonfiber Lab; Build your own Super Material
This hands-on course introduces students to high-performance composite materials used in Formula 1 cars, aircraft, and modern engineering products. Students will explore how fibers, resins, and layup techniques are used to create lightweight yet strong structures.
Level 3
December – January | 2 Months
Understanding Data Analysis through Formula 1 – Racing Strategy and Telemetry
This course introduces students to the exciting world of Formula 1 performance analysis, where data plays a central role in race strategy and decision-making. Students will explore how speed, braking, lap timing, tyre performance, and driver inputs are studied through telemetry.
COMPUTER
SCIENCES
Build a CPU from scratch. Launch a live web application. Train a machine learning model. Cedar’s computer science programme takes students from concept to creation..
Level 1
July | 1 Month
How to Architect a Fully
Functional CPU from Scratch
This course introduces students to computer architecture by helping them design a virtual 8-bit CPU using digital logic and the Logisim simulator. Students will explore binary systems, Boolean algebra, logic gates, adders, ALUs, memory, registers, data buses, control units, and instruction cycles.
Level 2
September – October | 2 Months
Full-Stack Engineering: Building and Launching Web Apps with Flask
This course teaches students how to build and deploy a complete database-driven web application using front-end and back-end development tools. Students will learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python Flask, databases, forms, authentication, and deployment.
Level 3
December – January | 2 Months
Introduction to Python and Machine Learning Foundations
This course builds a strong foundation in computer science, Python programming, and introductory artificial intelligence. Students will learn computational thinking, algorithms, flowcharts, variables, data types, control flow, loops, functions, data structures, and basic automation.
BUSINESS &
COMMERCE
Construct an investment portfolio, build a venture from the ground up, and master the science of data. Cedar students don’t study business — they practise it.
Level 1
July | 1 Month
Investment and Finance
This course provides students with a practical introduction to the Pakistan Stock Exchange and broader financial
markets. Students will learn how stock markets operate, how companies are analyzed, and how investment decisions are made using fundamental and technical analysis.
Level 2
September – October | 2 Months
How to Build your Own Venture
This practical course introduces students to modern marketing and shows how AI can be used to create smarter, faster, and more effective campaigns. Students will learn the fundamentals of marketing, including audience, positioning, funnels, content, and campaign planning.
Level 3
December – January | 2 Months
Data Alchemy: The Science of Spreadsheets
This course equips students with essential spreadsheet skills using Excel and Google Sheets. Students will learn how to enter, organize, format, analyze, and present data using formulas, charts, pivot tables, data validation, and basic macros.

EDUCATION BY DESIGN
Knowledge retained from a textbook fades. Knowledge earned through making something with your own hands does not.
Every course in the Liberal Arts Core Programme ends with a deliverable — a film, a working prototype, a deployed application, a business strategy. Not because we want students to have something to show. But because the process of creating something real is where genuine learning lives.
Cedar built this programme for the student who wants more than a qualification. For the one who wants to walk away knowing — not just believing — what they are capable of.
